OUTREACH
The people at Holy Trinity live out our parish motto, “Come in to worship; go out to serve,” through various outreach ministries.
Holy Trinity Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is our most significant outreach ministry. It has been in operation for more than 20 years. After a substantial revision in 2022, the distribution rate increased from 87 bags/month to over 400 bags/month. This growth is due to building intentional partnerships with other outreach agencies throughout Cumberland County. Parishioners are involved through donations, financial support, shopping, bag assembly, and delivery. In January 2022, the Pantry distributed 87 bags. By January 2023, distribution increased to 396 bags each month, and this rate continues to grow.
The Food Pantry is open for walk-ins Monday - Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
CARE CLINIC MEALS
Trinity parishioners provide dinner once a month for the volunteers at the CARE Clinic, which provides free quality health care to eligible uninsured, low income adults who live in Cumberland County. A number of parishioners also offer their medical and dental skills at the Clinic.
PARTNERSHIP WITH
MARGARET WILLIS SCHOOL
Holy Trinity partners with nearby Margaret Willis Elementary School to provide support for the students, families and staff. We work closely with the school social worker to identify specific needs. Our outreach support includes bringing meals and gifts to families for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Supporting this ministry is easy and specific activities are publicized on the church Facebook page, bulletins, and announcements.
OTHER OUTREACH EFFORTS
Church members serve on various non-profit boards and participate in numerous charitable activities. Current and past examples include serving migrant workers through the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry, supporting the Center for Economic Empowerment and Development (CEED) and the Child Advocacy Center, and Off-Road Outreach for unsheltered veterans.
Holy Trinity also supports outreach ministries in the wider Episcopal Church and in the world through the United Thank Offering, and Episcopal Relief and Development.
